Emma Bateman currently lives near Howden in East Yorkshire. Her childhood was spent growing up in mainland Greece, until moving to a rural Yorkshire farm in 1988.

Emma mostly paints abstracts, drawing inspiration from colour, texture, movement and emotions.

Butterflies are a common theme in her work, but are used in a surreal and thought-provoking fashion.

Her compositions are created using acrylics on canvas, and a textural collage effect is often achieved through the use of incorporated mediums such as glass inks, glitter and oils.

Emma is available for commissions based on her current work.
